Alhamdulillaah we have reached yet another month of Dhul Hijjah, in which the first 10 days are of great blessing and high virtue. In this blessed time, millions across the world go to perform Hajj in the Holy City of Makkah, and Muslims across the globe follow the important tradition of slaughtering an animal for feast.
ADT has been in the forefront in helping the most needy in Africa during this blessed time over the last 10 years, providing thousands of slaughtered meat for those celebrating the holy festival.
The act of Udhiya (Qurbani: sacrifice) is an Islamic tradition that Muslims carry out every year during the month of Dhu al-Hijjah, following the example of Prophet Ibrahim (as).
This year African Development Trust will deliver Qurbani program to Somalia, Kenya and Djibouti.
ADT act as a facilitator by collecting funds from different donors and perform Udhiya on their behalf. The meat is then distributed freshly to beneficiaries across the country.
