Whenever there is conflict, war, drought, flood or famine, hundreds lose their lives and further thousands have their lives ruined; from them it is the poor who are always affected the most. As part of the Emergency Relief Programme, ADT sends volunteers on the ground to provide immediate help in times of crisis. ADT works to reduce casualties and support the lives of its victims by:
- Providing essential medical care and assistance
- Building temporary shelter
- Distributing food and clean drinking water
ADT strongly believes that people affected by crises not only have the fundamental right to receive prompt high quality emergency-humanitarian assistance, but also long term development programmes to restore the lives of those affected and thus ADT works continuously in affected areas to provide the fundamental stepping stone for families to once again be able to sustain themselves.
